A discharge is normally the final step saying "All your debts are discharged" ie: no one can collect on those debts anymore.
It is what you were waiting for if you filed.

∙ 15y agoA discharge prohibits creditors whose debts were discharged from collecting them or trying to collect them. Any such attempt is a violation of the discharge order and the creditor can be held in contempt. This also applies to anyone who buys a discharged debt and tries to collect it.
