Assuming you are referring to Our Blessed Lord telling His disciples, that they must take up their cross and follow Him (St. Matthew 16:24):

Your "cross" are your burdens in life, the things that you don't look forward to: illness, aches and pains, those in authority over you telling you to do things that you would rather not, the various trials and tribulations in life. We must accept all of these joyfully, and offer them up to God. This is the way we are to work out our salvation in fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12).
