One purpose of dreams is to provide an outlet for emotions we are not able to express in our waking life. Sometimes these are very deep, hidden emotions that we are not even aware of having. While sometimes uncomfortable, this is a very healthy function of dreams, and provides release and relief from the stress and tension of unexpressed emotions. That seems to be the meaning of your crying in your dream.
