Are the ACTUAL holes or could it be that perhaps your tastebuds are inflammed slightly on the sides - making the 'holes' you see - actually spaces between the tastebuds?

Or perhaps these are scars from biting your tongue?

You could have geographic tongue, a benign condition. An internet search will provide good information. I have geographic tongue as well as psorisis. The two are often linked.
