Gyms, health centers, schools, and community centers offer CPR and First Aid classes. You will need to take a course for a certain number of hours and take a written test and a hands-on test. American Red Cross and the American Heart Association are the more well known organizations that offer First Aid and CPR classes.

This depends on your country and what branch of the Red Cross you are applying for. Generally, you will need to have a pre-hospital emergency care qualification (or higher), be experienced in dealing with first aid scenarios, have excellent people skills and be a competent teacher.

Other skills the Red Cross will look for include your ability to inspire the best from your students and if you are able to encourage and motivate them.

In order to be CPR certified you need to take a CPR class. Most towns and cities offer them for a price. After you take the classes to learn how to correctly do CPR, then you must take a test to be certified.
