What does it take to become a fashion consultant?

To be a fashion designer ,you have to have passion for it.You have to know when the clothing you have designed is a bit too much and when it needs more detail.You have to know what colours match what colours and whether it needs lighter colours or darker colours.

The most idiotic answer I read in a long time.

First , it takes passion for anything you want to do, if you want to excel on it.

Second, if matching colors and knowing ( a better word would be feeling) when you overdone it was all it takes, the world will be overstaffed with "so called" designers.

Third, your gender or sexual orientation doesn't give you an automatic monopoly on good taste and fashion. I know, I'm totally "politically incorrect", but you know I'm right, don't you?

Is there anyone out there who really want to know ?

To be a professional fashion designer it takes:

love

experience

knowledge of the textile industrial process (to long to explain)

open mind

interest in arts

strong cultural background

lots of patience

genuine interest in other people

curiosity

psychology

and much, much more

also not necessarily in that order

To become a Fashion Consultant you need to have lots of passion for fashion, you also need to obviously go to a college/university that either offers a degree in fashion marketing, fashion merchandising, or fashion design. You also need to know what's on style every year and every season and you need to know how to do makeovers that make the person you're helping feel better and more confident with themselves after the makeover, you also need to know what matches the person with their outer and inner personality and for last you also need to know that this career isn't well payed or successful just anywhere you need to hit a big fashion city such as New York. I hope that this information helps you in some way and well this is basically all that I know about this career.
