The orange light is used for a 'shift' signal. It means 'shift into the next gear now'.
If your tachometer/rev counter has an adjustable setting for this light, you can set it to come on when you're at peak horsepower or torque and want to shift into the next gear. This comes in handy for getting the best performance out of your vehicle's engine while drag racing. It can also be set up to remind you to shift at a lower rev than normal to help you save fuel.
It means your engine is screwed and you need to call an auto shop RIGHT NOW
Hi, This light came on in my Megane Scenic and it meant I had to replace one ( could be more ) of my coil packs on top of the manifold. Your car will lose power when in higher gear or going uphill.
where is the rev counter sender unit in peugeot 206 how to get at it
If you mean a rpm gage it will hook up to the distributor or coil.
What is the symbol?
was told there's a rev counter "unit" somewhere, Haine's manual has nothing, let us know if you sorted it? == Believe rev counter engine speed pickup is from the alternator. Had Rover 218TD with same engine, alternator went and rev counter stopped working. There were 3 wires to alternator, big thick red one, alternator light one and the rev counter feed. Hope this helps peter
yes
rev cpunter bounceing on nissan almeria
It sounds like the crank position sensor has failed.
it is only lifting very slightly when i rev the engine
There is no use for rpm in a car A: I an assuming you mean the rev counter in cars. The rev counter tells the driver how fast the engine is turning its revolution per minute. In a situation where you can't here the noise of the engine, it is useful to see on a gauge how may rev the engine is doing. Max revving a car for prolonged periods can blow the engine.
On obd2 the rev limiter is in the ecm and works by dropping off cylinders to maintain rev limit.
