A "RORO" or "Roll on, roll off" ship is a ship that has loading ramps into the ship and around it, allowing trucks to drive on to the ship when loading, and drive off the ship when unloading. This eliminates the need for large cranes to lift the trucks and trailers into the hold of the ship and back out again.
