Smegma is a mixture if the skin that is discarded from the surface of the glans and the inner surface of the foreskin and secretions designed to lubricate and moisten the snpecial mucous membranes that cover these. until the foreskin can be retracted there is no reason to be concerned with it and when it can be retracted you simply wash it of. men that are circumcised also loose skin and produce these secretions but it is of no use to them as the head of their penis is dry and hard as a result of constant friction on clothing. Women also produce smegma and also need to wash between the labia.
