The X card means discard all. When played, you discard all cards of the same color as the discard all card(e.g; if the card on the top of the pile is a green 6, you may play a green discard all card and discard all your Green Cards.) Play resumes after the player who played the discard all card.
It's called a "Discard all" card. - When played, you must discard all cards of the color of the discard all card (E.g: If the top card on the discard pile is a blue 4, the player may play a blue discard all card and discard all their blue cards.)

It means that the 'x' in the x000 is not fixed, and changes according to the monster card's effect.
To be honest, it all depends on the God Card`s effect. Obelisk has 4000, and this can`t drop, making him my personal favorite. Slifer`s attack is 1000 x every card in your hand, so if you don`t have many cards in your hand Slifer isn`t very good. Ra`s attack is the attack of all the monsters you tributed for him combined, so he`s not as good if you tributed sucky monsters for him.
If you mean in baseball, K is for strikeout, from the letter in the word.
