The arrow would normally indicate the front.
You said arrows... Is there more than one arrow on the piston in question? What kind of piston?
Anyway, a stock or stock replacement piston usually has one arrow or a little notch in it and that is to indicate the front.

Driver side front cylinder.
what are the piston footpounds for a chevy 350 If you're asking about the output of the engine, it varies a lot depending on what the engine was built for.
It might. Better check first.
The front cylinder on the driver's side is #1.
Type your answer here... Burnt intake or exhaust valve, hole in piston, broken piston rings, bad head gasket, valve spring broken.
you either have bad piston rings or your valves are staying open. Other Possibilities: Blown head gasket; cracked cylinder head; cracked piston.
It will fit, but you might want to have the crank, rods, and pistons balanced first as there is a big difference in the weight of a 350 piston versus a 305 piston. Wouldn't want to get it all together and have a nasty vibration at certain speeds.
The bore and piston size are the only real difference between the two.The 350 has a bigger bore and piston and so puts out more horsepower, the305 = 3.75" bore and the 350 = 4" bore. Both have the same stroke. Also the starters are different because of the smaller flywheel but other wise the external parts are interchangeable.
