What does the bible say about snakes?

The word snake(s) does not appear in the King James, however below is a list of those appearing in the New International Version, about 40:

• Genesis 49:17 - Dan will be a snake by the roadside, a viper along the path, that bites the horse's heels so that its rider tumbles backward.
• Exodus 4:3 - The LORD said, "Throw it on the ground." Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it.
• Exodus 4:4 - Then the LORD said to him, "Reach out your hand and take it by the tail." So Moses reached out and took hold of the snake and it turned back into a staff in his hand.
• Exodus 7:8 - [Aaron's Staff Becomes a Snake] The LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
• Exodus 7:9 - "When Pharaoh says to you, 'Perform a miracle,' then say to Aaron, 'Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh,' and it will become a snake."
• Exodus 7:10 - So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the LORD commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake.
