Government Issue -The nickname "GI'S" refers to the government issue stamp on the soilders uniforms!

is Government Issue. If it was General Infantry, then artillerymen, airmen, clerks and cooks wouldn't be GIs. When you go to boot camp, all your personal items are taken away and everything you have is Government Issue.
