What does the term 'EP' mean in music? In: Music |
Answer
An 'EP' is an CD that an artist releases before their whole CD comes out. It is to give the fans a taste of what is coming. It could include anywhere from 2- 10 songs often depending on the length of the full album. The EP can come out anywhere from 2 months to a year before the full length album.
But the letter EP just stand for Extended Play, i.e. longer than a single, traditionally containing 4 tracks such as the Beatles' 'Twist and Shout (EP)'
