I found the owner's manual online and apparently on a 2001 Ford Taurus SES that light is (it's NOT the brake light, by the way):
Check Transaxle Momentarily illuminates when the ignition is turned to the ON position. Illumination of this light indicates that a problem has been detected and shifting may be restricted. If this lamp remains on, have your vehicle serviced immediately.
Sounds like the Hazard warning light. Check to see if they are on. Look in your owner's manual if you have one. If not, you need to get one. I have the same problem in my 2001. It is the Check Transaxle light. Most likely dealing with the transmission. Probably just low fluid.
No 2011 Mercury Sable model , but there is a 2011 Ford Taurus
99% sure the Taurus radiator will be a perfect match to the Sable's.
No they do not
No, a Generation 2 (1992-1995) Taurus/Sable Windshield will NOT fit a Generation 3 (1996-1999) Ford Taurus/Sable.
According to the 2000 Mercury Sable owners manual : That's your check transaxle warning light ( located in the bottom / left of the tachometer ) A problem has been detected , shifting may be restricted ( if the warning light stays on , have your vehicle serviced immediately )
The Mercury Sable and the Ford Taurus will have DOC in printed on the engine if they are dual overhead cam engines. The symbol should be on the top of the engine.
That is a "Check transmission light"
Yes, it is identical.
Yes.
Yes, it does.
Just one handles the job. See "Related Questions" below for more about Taurus/Sable fuel pumps
It is the check transaxle light...your trasmission has issues and is probably going to lock into second gear for safety if its serious.
