Do the performing arts help kids?

I personally feel that the performing arts do help kids. It is a way in which children can build there confidence and will also help them if they are in an environment in which they have to act a certain way, by taking drama they would be able to look at the characteristics of the job and perform to the maximum level. If children take dance classes they are more likely to be unafraid at auditions and job interviews and by playing a musical instrument you are allowing them to get out teen angst and to express themselves in a way that is safe can can be done in a loving and caring environment. Also it allows kids to become more academically involved if they are dyslexic or are failing at core subjects like maths and english as they an fall back on performing arts.

What do colleges like to see more performing arts or visual arts?

Well, obviously if you want to go into one of those fields, then choose that one. Other wise, it really doesn't matter, as long as you have extracurriculars. Try to find something in which you can obtain a leadership role. And if you are interested in a particular major, then do activities related to that. But most of all, make sure your GPA is as close to 4.0 as possible and you do well on the SAT and ACT exams.

How are the performing arts similar to the visual arts?

Other than the fact that they are both "arts", the performing arts and visual arts really don't have much in common. They are both considered "arts" in society because they are labeled as "displays of works of beauty". Whether you dance, sing, act, dance, draw, paint, or just plain doodle, you are performing "an art" in your own way! Hope this helps!

What ACT score must you have to be a lawyer?

There is no ACT score you must have to be a lawyer. An ACT score is what is needed to get into most colleges, but students who want to be lawyers need to go to law school. This is something they do after four years at a college or university. When you apply to law school, you take a test called the LSAT. This is required for law school admissions.
