That person is wrong. The Lundehund has 6 toes They use the extra toes to help them climb the cliffs of their country to hunt puffin birds. That's all I know of though..
No dog breed has extra toes. Keep dreaming lol
That one person doesn't know what he is talking about. I have a dog with 6 toes on each hind leg and it is not a Norwegian lundehund
Some dog breeds do have webbing between their toes.
Yes, you can, just look it up on Google.
no they do not. And if the dog does it can not b shown in dog shows.
Most have 4 but I Know of a Mexican breeder who breeds for this. They sell for more because they are stronger. Normally they will have thicker muscles on their back legs too. They are not more aggressive. The parents of the puppy I just got were very well behaved. They will have 5 full sized toes plus a dew claw. The breeder was in Conroe Texas and sells through Craigslist.Only a polydactyl has extra toes, and there is nothing different about them from other dogs of the same breed with less toes except for having extra toes. In some cases, if the dog has too many extra toes, it may pose a health risk and make walking uncomfortable, but a dog with just five looks and behaves like a four toed dog.
Most dogs have 18 toes, not counting the dew claws or double dew claws that can be easily mistaken for extra toes. If your dog has more then four toes on their front feet and five in their back, he is called a polydactyl, which is just fancy word for extra toes. It's a pretty common trait, and there is usually no ill effects.
I know that at least the American Bobtail is very prone to having extra toes.
a regular dog usually has five toes
A dog withe webbed feet will have skin that connects the toes from where the toe attaches to the foot to the nail. It is simple to check, just separate your dog's toes and see if you can see the aforementioned extra skin.
it is believed to have 355 breeds of dog including mix breeds.
A dog with more toes then it should.
dogs dont have dewclaws on their back feet. Only 4 toes on the back paws is normal
Four. Most members of the order Carnivora have four toes on their hind feet and five (including dewclaws) on their front feet. There are "polydactyl" individuals with extra toes, and at least one breed of dog, the Norwegian Lundehund, has six toes on each foot.
