He was depressed bc of his Grandma dieing and everything, it was a sad time especially wen he was suicidal nobody wants him to die!!:(why?because he was depressed and he didnt no what he was doing...at least he don't do them now :)

i saww in an interveiw he said that it was just something that he felt he had to do to be Gerard on stage;

it wasent his fult he was depresed and needed to get away from music for a while so he turned to drugs and alcahole (on stage his pants would fall down when he was stoned) i hope this helps

my take: == Gerard way did drugs for years before his nan died, its just the way of the world.

when he started taking drugs he would have wanted to take them.

no one takes drugs because they are depressed only, it was his fault. its the addiction that he or no one else can control.

he knew what he was doing perfectly well, he is an adult, please do not think of him as any different just because he is Gerard way, he is in his thirties, and did drugs, booze and prescription medicine recreationally, until it became a habit.

he was on xanax and did cocaine for a short time before getting help

he still takes diffrent antidepressants, like xanax, but he used to do cocaine and smoke pot before he got clean in 2004

he doesn't take drugs, he use to take lots of pills, all sorts but in 2004 he stopped drinking and taking drugs. He only smokes cigarettes now. Don't know where

people get that he is still taking drugs and smoking weed. HE DOESN'T

Gerard Way doesn't do any type of drug any more hes been clean since 2004. he got help and because of that help he can have an OCCASIONAL bear. he USED to be an alcoholic and drug addict he was an addict to prescription drugs and he did cocaine for a while. IDK WHERE YOU PPL GOT WEED FROM HE NEVER SMOKED WEED THAT WAS <3 FRANKIE <3 he even admitted that he had dreadlocks because he used to smoke weed. BUT GEE <3 NEVER DID POT.

Gerard was on drugs quite a few years back.

He has a phobia of needles so I'm pretty sure he didnt use heroin but I remember reading somewhere that he'd done an 8-ball (3 grams) of cocaine.

Little fact: when My Chemical Romance toured Japan around that time he didn't take much with him because he didn't think he's be coming home alive. He hugged everyone at the airport incase he never saw them again and while on the plane he suffered severe withdrawl symptoms.

Thankfully Gerard is perfectly clean now.. well.. despite his cigarettes. xx
