What drugs show up in a lab test?

Different companies use different kind of tests. They can be one, five ot more panel tests. Which means that they screen for different drugs. I will give you some samples:

Cocaine - Includes Cocaine, Crack and Benzoylecognine

· Cannabinoids - Includes Marijuana and Hash

· Amphetamines - Includes Speed, Methamphetamines and amphetamines

· Opiates - Includes Heroin, Opium, Codeine and Morphine

· Phencyclidine - PCP (5 panel home test kit)

But they can test for additional drugs such as:

· Barbiturates - Including Phenobarbital, Scorbarbitol and Butalbital

· Hydrocodone - Including Vicodin and Lortab

· Benzodiazepines - Includes Valium, Xanax, Librium, Serax and Rohypnol

· Methadone

· Propoxyphene - Includes Darvon compounds

· Ethanol - Known as Alcohol

· MDMA or Ecstasy

It depends on the spectrum of the test. Some test for any and all drugs while others test for certain types.

There is a 200-drug panel available. You will probably never be subjected to it as it's very expensive and it's really for doctors' use: if a patient presents with a drug overdose, you can't figure out the drug and need to if you want to save the patient's life, you order this test.

The most common drug screen is the "SAMSHA-5": THC, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines and PCP. If you're being tested for a job, as a truck driver or pilot, or as a soldier this is probably all they'll test you for. The Army has another trick up its sleeve: they've got a list of a lot of drugs and they'll choose two off that list to add to the SAMSHA-5.
