It depends on how much you eat of them. The beechnuts of American beech trees taste good and sweet, the beechnuts of European beech trees don`t taste at all. The beechnuts contain tanins that can cause nausea and vomiting, but you would have to eat a big amount of them. I ate once a lot of them as child and I got fever and vomited but after I slept for few hours I felt good again. I ate the beechnuts of the European beech trees, because we went for a trip to forest from school and I didn`t have any food with me.:)))
