∙ 14y agoThat depends on the size of the bird. but a bird of prey will eat insects, fish, avians (other birds), amphibians, reptiles and mammals of a size it can handle without endangering its mode of escape. Any animal it can like rodents.

∙ 13y agobirds of prey can find there prey in many different ways like the red kite hovers and uses its amazing eye site to find dead or dieing animals off the road or in a Field or any where they can. the peregrine falcon gets its prey by dive bombing from high up in the air and it folds back its wings and travels through the air at up to 200mph or 300km at top speed in dive.

I am pretty sure an osprey would'nt live in the dessert to eat fish.

Most Eagles soar for a long time rising on thermals (warm drafts of air) They wait till there prey has been spotted then they swoop down (stoop). They spread out their talons and catch their prey.
Secretary Birds run up to their prey and stomp on their head to kill them.
Falcons eat bugs, smaller birds and bats. They fly at fast speeds and catch them on the wing (in the air).
They sometimes fly and dive like Eagles.
Owls use there superb sense of hearing and can sometimes pin point the exact position of a mouse. They then fly silently and swoop down and catch it when there in the right location.

Many Songbirds eat plants like seeds, nectar, berries, etc. Others eat insects or just other birds. Some eat other animals or carcasses. Many birds that have adapted to humans eat garbage, or food from humans.

∙ 11y agoNo. They are fast and can see for 3 miles so if something moves they will see it. They sit high up to be able to see an area. If a small mammal is out there they will get it because they are faster than it is.
