What education or training do you need to become a paramedic?

Answer

That depends on which state you live in. THe best way to find out is to contact you states department of health or professional regulations. In Illinois it requires you to first become a certified EMT-B. THen you have to get into Paramedic school which will last antwhere from 10 months to 24 months. During which time you will spend time outside the classroom on an ambulance practicing skills you learn in class. You will also be required to spend hours in various departments in the hospital doing the same. I hope this if nothing else partially answers your question.
