AnswerMan made elements are produced in two different ways. The more common is through neutron capture, followed by beta emission. An example of this is the neutron capture by naturally occurring 238U to produce 239U, which decays by beta emission to produce, first, the short lived 239Np, which decays by alpha emission into 239Pu.

It is also possible to produce a new element by fusion. For example Copernicium (atomic number 112) was first made by firing accelerated 70Zn (atomic number 30)nuclei at a target of 208Pb (atomic number 82). A single atom of 277Cn was made in this manner on Feb 9, 1996 in Darmstadt, though more Cn atoms have been made since.

Technetium is sometimes regarded as a synthetic element, but it is created in extremely small quantities in nature by the spontaneous fission of 238U.

In chemistry, a synthetic element is a chemical element that does not occur naturally on Earth, and can only be created artificially. So far 20 synthetic elements have been created (those with atomic numbers 99-118).

Today natural elements are considered the elements up to the atomic number 98; but the elements with atomic numbers 43, 61 and 93-98 exist only in extremely traces, as a curiosity in uranium deposits. Of course they can be obtained also by man made nuclear reactions.

Consequently man made elements must be considered only the elements with the atomic number over 98: some examples are meitnerium, bohrium, flerovium.

Hydrogen is not a man-made element but one that exists in nature naturally. It was discovered by Henry Cavendish in in 1766. So the question of "who made the hydrogen" atom is more philosophy then science.

Is botulinum man made or is it from an element on the periodic chart?

Botulinum can be made by men or by a certain kind of bacteria. The remainder of this question, however, signals a serious misunderstanding of chemistry: Everything tangiblemade by man or any other life form consists of one or moreelements on the periodic chart. Botulinum is a compound, containing more than one element. It therefore can not be made from an* element but can be made from a small selection of elements.___________________________________*Note that "an" is an article that can not correctly modify a plural subject.
