  • carbon - positive electrode
  • zinc - negative electrode
  • potassium, oxygen, hydrogen (as potassium hydroxide and water) - electrolyte
  • manganese, oxygen (as manganese dioxide) - catalyst to prevent formation of hydrogen gas bubbles
  • carbon, oxygen, hydrogen (as paper) - carrier for electrolyte and insulator
  • iron, carbon, etc. (as steel) - outer jacket to prevent leaks
  • etc.
