WALK
It can stimulate contractions, as can nipple stimulation. Both of these are great things to try to get labour moving along. There are no guarantees with any of these induction methods, though as they will only work if your body is ready for them to. In your case, it sounds like you must be close.
This doesn't nessecarily mean you will go into labor by the week is out, but it is near. Labor could be a few hours, days or even weeks away. Just be sure to start counting your contractions, and if contractions become more severe, and more regular, call your practitioner.
If your contractions are three min. apart then you probably already are in labor especially if you are already dilated and 80% effaced. If the contractions aren't regular then you aren't in labor but if it turns out that your not then you will most likely be going into labor really soon.
There is really no straight answer for that. Your baby is fully engaged, but that doesn't necessarily mean labor is imminent. It does mean that your body is getting ready though. Good luck!
Yes, however, on tv you have a contraction & you go to the hospital & the baby is born. With all of my babies, i had back pain & contractions for weeks before they were so painful i could not stand it (active labor- 4 to 8 cm dilated). So if the pain is not bothering you, you are probably having contractions & your body is gearing up to go into heavy, active labor soon!
This is normal! However, once you become 7 cm dilated is time to get to the hospital. Even if your water breaks you don't have to go to the hospital until your contractions are 5-7 minutes apart.
Have you spoken to your doctor, obstetrician or midwife about this yet? If not, I really advice phoning them or going to the hospital because your contractions are pretty close together. It is possible that these could still be Braxton Hicks contractions. But they could be the start of labour. It's important to get checked out.
You should be calling a doctor. If you feel like something isn't right, then get a professional opinion!
I am currently 32 weeks and am dialated almost 2 cm. I started to dialate at 29 weeks. My doc said I need to go another two weeks before I can have the baby safely. In Nevada, where I live, once you dialate to 4 cm, they automatically put you into the hospital to have the baby and will induce labor if need be. u can start dailating any time after 34weeks.it can be a long time be4 u actually go in labour.i had 5 kids and the ealiest i started dailate was at 36 weeks. I am going on 39 weeks and I am dilated to a 4 with my cervix 80% softened... I have been dilated for about 3 or 4 weeks now... Now I am just waiting on the contractions start... Hopefully it will be soon... it depends on each womans body and each pregnancy...#1-i was dilated from wk 35 to 37 on cm and had her at 38(with being at 4 cm at the hospital)..#2-no dilation until i went to the hospital(and i was 4 cm again)#3 absolutely no dilation until wk 37-then my water broke one day and i was 8 cm dilated when i got to the hospital...hth
nipple stimulation, walking, sucking your thumb (it hits a pressure point at the roof of your mouth... all of these stimulate contractions.. Congratulations!!!
It means you will probably go into labor soon. I've heard of women being dilated 3cm and not going into labor for weeks. As a reference, you must be dilated to 10cm before the doctors or midwifes will allow you to push.
Yes. If you think thats what it is! Anywhere from 30+ weeks means your ready, and can start any moment.
