What entertainment was there in the 1700s?

In the 1700's there were stage plays (mostly Shakespearean revivals) and music concerts (what we know as Classical Music today). There were also stage shows that were basically comedy styled and also poetry readings.
Families, would go on outings or have very refined parties.


Also dance, Wrestling, and other forms of entertainment.

Reading the LOL The Bible and haveing fun talking to a dead guy who can walk on water ,, and Scriptures. Kids had dolls. Toys were usually hand made because money was scarce. Dancing was considered a sin. There may have been the occasional small fair or town event that had horse pulls or ox pulls but in colonial times having fun was more against the doctirnes of the day than anything else. You should be studying your religious passages.

Men smoked lots of WEED...played cards or dice (usually cut from wood) and cider, beer and wine were abundant. Rum was popular because molasses was availbale and in all actuality rum was consumed more in the colonies than anywhere else. When the Revolution started and molasses became scare through the British embargos...we had plenty of corn on hand. So...what can you do with corn you ask? Whiskey..thats what. Its actually amazing that anyone was sober in those days because water was so lousy as well as sanitation hadn't quite reached an acceptable standard.

As for women....needlepoint...sewing...quit making and being a good and faithful and religious wife.
