- First of all, definitely a place. Its size depends on what kind of studio (pets, family, or even cars) you want to build.
- Camera (digital or film) that can be set to Manual settings
- Lighting, min. 2 strobe lights with stands or ceiling rails.
Optional items:
- Light modifiers, such as barndoors, flags, softboxes, snoot, etc.
- Accessories, such as stool, clamp, cable ties, sheet of paper, etc.
- Prop, such as costume, doll, fairy wings, Baseball bat, etc.
- Flash meter

Strobe lighting and light modifiers i.e. softboxes, reflectors, honeycombs, snoots, gels etc as well as passive reflectors, scrims, flags and backdrops and the appropriate support gear. Computers and post production software with high end colour accurate monitors that can be colour calibrated.

∙ 13y agoBeing a Photographer using a film camera its smart to have film of course. also a tripod is very useful as to different lenses, film developing tank, access to a darkroom with a projector, filters, necessary chemicals, photo paper, negative sleeves. And if you're using a digital camera all you really need is a tripod and photo editing software. other than is, you may want to use lighting equipment and backdrop sheets, amongst things like props and sets (for shoot that need them.)
