What ere the safety tips to survive during typhoon? |
Be informed
The best thing to do is to be informed. If you know ahead of time that a typhoon is coming, get the heck out of there. But if it creeps up on you like a deadline, then there are certain things you can do.
First, anything outside, bring in. Also, anything near the windows, like potted plants, move away. Set your freezer to the coldest temperature possible, so that hopefully it'll keep your stuff fresh as long as possible. Watch for leaks, otherwise water may enter your house. Have some rags handy in that case. If the storm gets really bad, move away from any windows. Try to be exposed to windows as least as possible, otherwise shards of broken window could fly in. Also, as another precaution, draw curtains, preferably heavy, over the windows, to protect against any broken glass. Be prepared for the eye, because it may fool you into thinking the storm is over. Stay in the house a few more hours, but take this time to stretch if you need to. But remember, the best way to survive a typhoon, is to get the heck out of there.
