What ever happened to Dorsett Marine a division of Textron Inc?

Textron dissolved the Dorsett division in the mid to late 1970's. They sold off the molds and all equipment. Similar boats were made using the molds for several years afterward, some of these boats were called Sierra's which look like the Dorsett Catalina. The engineering talent and others within the Dorsett division went on to work for Textron marine, designing and building the incredible coast guard vessels that we see today. Many of the Dorsett boats were styled by the famous designer, Raymond Loewy. Many of these boats especially the Catalina mad between the years of 1959 and 1963 are highly sought after and can be quite valuable if in pristine condition.
