∙ 12y agoYes, and I am proof of this fact. I have an extra rib that grew upwards from my top rib on the right side of my body. The end of it stops behind my collarbone, which causes it (the collarbone) to stick out a bit further than my left collarbone. I found it as a teen when I was taking a shower and felt a hard, round bump in my lower neck. X-rays confirmed it was an extra rib and that it was no threat to my health.
I am also reminded of people who are born with 6 toes or fingers on their feet or hands. Obviously, each extra digit would contain their own count of bones if the parents did not make the decision to have the extra digit removed. I have never seen an adult with extra digits, but I am sure that odds are in favor of several out in the world somewhere.

∙ 10y agoNo. Not taking into account injuries and deformities that can occur, young children and infants have more bones than adults do, as some bones fuse during development. A normal human is born with 270 bones, while a normal adult has 206.
In some case, bones may also fuse due to disease or body parts may be amputated, reducing the number of bones.
