He was very sneaky. Even he liked Britts and Muslims, he convinced Hindus that he is doing so for the success of his fight for freedom. He became more famous because(1) he was murdered, (2) Gandhi advised Nehru to name his daughter Indira (married to Firroz Khan) his last name Gandhi to fool Hindus. (3) used millions of rupees of Indian taxpayers' money to produce Holliwood film Gandhi with many false info. Movie Gandhi not only made M. K. Gandhi famous but also Indira Gandhi in a big way. Naive Hindus just assume that Indira Gandhi is from the same family of MK Gandhi.
