What feature should one look for when buying a laptop?

When purchasing any computer, you should consider processor speed, amount of memory and size of hard drive. Your requirements will depend on the operating system and applications you intend to run.

With a laptop, there are several other key considerations: size and weight, battery life, durability (consider the environment where the laptop will be), screen size, keyboard size, wireless card, media drives (CD or DVD, ROM or RW) and ports to connect printers, cameras, etc. The more features, the bigger and heavier the laptop will be.

Although expensive, a solid state hard drive helps to reduce the likelyhood of a hard drive failure from being moved and carried often.
