What food did Shakespeare eat?

Answer:
Of course we have no information about Shakespeare particularly, but we do know something about diet in the Elizabethan era. New World Foods were still very new, and were not integrated into everyday diet. You wouldn't find potatoes, or tomatoes, or vanilla, or capsicum peppers. There was no fast food and no foreign cuisine unless it was French--no hamburgers, pizza, curries, dim sum or sushi. On the other hand they ate a broader variety of fruits, vegetables and meats. They ate medlars, and quinces, swans, peacocks, sorrel, and edible flowers. Also, they did not have much sugar. A pound of sugar cost three months' wages.
