Budgies won't eat as much fruits as they will veggies, due to their desert origins. We've been keeping budgies for a little over 8 years, and what we've found out is they love: Sweet potatoe (peeled, raw), zuchinni, spinich, celery (especially the tops), carrots, and lettuce. I've only had a couple of parakeets that liked apple; I guess they don't like sweets as much as we do.
Why not experiment?
Just dont go too wild, it could interfer with your budgies health, be sure it has clean water at all times and that it has lots to play with, also remember to clean it out regularily, They are clean freaks! :)
