No, they are part of the headlight assembly.
If it is the same as my Cherokee it will be on the top of the transmission on the driver side right behind where the engine and transmission join.

The fuel pump is inside of the gas tank on a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee so the tank must be removed in order to replace the fuel pump. I'm pretty sure its the same for the Cherokee "classic". I just had mine replaced a few months ago. Good Luck!
If it's automatic, it is most likely a non ABS Chrysler 8.25 axle with 3.55 gears.
Because Mitsubishi Eclipse 1996 doesn't have automatic headlights.
