The first record of the Riddle of the Sphinx is attributed to Euripides, but probably comes from earlier Greek mythology. It asks, "What goes on four legs in the morning, on two legs at noon, and on three legs in the evening?" The answer is, "A man, who crawls on all fours as a baby, walks on two legs as an adult, and walks with a cane in old age."
A human. Four legs is a baby crawling, two legs is an adult and three legs is an old person walking with a stick. :) Hope this helped!
a spider
I think it's a walking egg cuz it's hard all around if you boil it(or even if you don't boil it), it's soft in the middle then has 4 legs (i don't know about the 4 up 4down legs part )
Arthropod comes from the Greek meaning "jointed feet", which is what arthropods have, as well as an external skeleton, which they shed when growing.

i think its not an animal but a human because the "mountain" is when your born and when u die so when u r born u need your arms to balances and when u can walk you are on top of the mountain and as u get older u need a cane to help u walk and that's when u get down from the mountain :)
What has eight legs but has more eyes
The last three-legged shrimp. He was the last of a dying breed. RIP
Walking down-hill, especially with a heavy pack, puts a very high strain on your legs.
A spider that flys in the air and then an aeroplane cuts off 5 of its legs and then the spider falls on a gluey feather in the sky which gives him another leg and then he lands with 4 legs. ...there is a simpler answer which i don't know... ENJOY MY VERSION:)
Nothing
What came first. The egg or the Hen. What climbs mountain with four legs but comes down on three legs.
