A number of positive occurrences took place for blacks during the war. For one, the Tuskegee Flyers distinguished themselves in battle and proved that black pilots were the equal of their white counterparts. Black journalist Robert Vann, editor of the Pittsburgh Courier, went to Europe to cover the war and his reporting was quoted by several mainstream publications. Black entertainers joined the war effort and raised money for war bonds. And while America remained segregated, a number of blacks were hired for good-paying jobs in war-related industries, helping them to enter the middle class.

there was a bombing attack and England won the cup!
women have rights!

The overall good that happened during the year is my suggestion.
Many northern African countries were invaded by the Germans and Italians. Ethiopia is a good example, it was hit down hard by the Italians.
Israel
American civil liberties were not classifiable as good during WW2. Japanese citizens were sent to internment camps, as well as many German citizens, for the duration of the war. Blacks and women were not granted equal rights under the law. Native American's were not even allowed citizenship.
not good
The same chit chat most humans talk about around the world: whether they had a good or bad day, about their families, jobs or any events that happened during their individual lives.
If world war one had not happened then I don't think that world war two would have happened. Sometimes you have to ask yourself: What did it achieve? If you can't come up with an good answer then there was almost no point in the world war one. If world war one had not happened then there would probably not have been a world war two!
