Answer:
Mar 9, 2008 ... Kristina Abernathy, Kristin Dodd, Rich Johnson and Mark Mancuso have all been layed off. They're last day was Feb 2, 2009
Mike Sidel was no doubt kept on staff because of the fact that he is a professional, but may not have the "presence" NBC was looking for but they still needed those sequences where they have to put someone "in harm's way" for an up to the minute condition report. We viewers pray that this gentleman never gets hit by flying debris or be blown away by some freak turbulence. So, in effect, he has become the "whipping boy" of the weather channel.
We miss Mark Mancuse as this man had what I'd call a true sence of on camera humor, I used to look forward to his "antics" because they came across as totally unplanned and un-staged, pretty subtle, non- innuendo, just funny. One has to think of David Letterman, who got his start a TV Weatherman.
As for the remaining two personalities, Rich Johnson and Kristin Dodd, what in the world was wrong with their on camera personalities? One has to think that they probably got the ax due to trying to be loyal and standing up for their co-hosts. Just a guess, a viewer trying to read between the lines.
The above story could make an interesting screen play and one has to think, why hasn't this story been made into a Hollywood Movie? They could spice it up with bad language and some sex and..... OK on second thought, maybe just leave well enough alone.
