- US Built the Panama Canal 1904 to 1914. World War One with Germany Began 28 June 1914 (US entered on the side of England and France on 6 April 1917) Ceasefire on 11 November 1918; Peace Treaty 28 June 1919.
- League of Nations forerunner to the United Nations was founded 1919-1920.
- A couple of brothers, Orville and Wilbur Wright, that owned a bicycle shop in Dayton, Ohio flew the first Airplane 17 December 1903 at Kill Devil Hills at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
- Henry Ford started producing Model Ts in 1908.
- Most important of all, my Mother was born 18 October 1911 in a log cabin on a farm in Warren County, Kentucky.
