montserrat erupted because the descrutive plate underneath it forced magma up and out of the volcano causing it to erupt. hope this was helpfull YOU PEICE OF SH()T I BET YOUR A DUMB F()CK WHO CANT EVEN SPELL MONTSERRAT.
it took a few months for the volcanoe to erupt but when it did 3 pyroclastic flows down the mountain at 80mph and it spreaded over a third of the moutain killing 19 people , after that happend the rest of the people was evacuated before more could be killed and the volcanoe would erupt.
It happened because the pressure inside the volcano then when the pressure was too much it erupted!!!!
because the rub and create friction, friction makes heat and the heat slowly melts the plates which creates magma tjhe magma slowly rises and builds up pressure under the plates.

Montserrat is an island in the Caribbean. It is one of the Leeward islands and at the time of the famous eruption it had 12,000 inhabitants
people were shocked...'omg'
No. The term compostie volcano describes a kind of volcano, not a kind of volcanic eruption. The Soufrière Hills on Montserrat is indeed a composite volcano, however, whether it is erupting or not.
