What happened to Aceboard forums?

I was known as MonkeyChicken on the Aceboard forums, the site was believed by some that it would be shut down, which it wasn't, which made everyone go to new forum providers instead, there are some sites that are being visited by people, as far as I know there are no sites currently active.
