Anne Frank's Story
Anne Frank was born June 12, 1929.
At the age of 13 she had to go into hiding because of the Nazis. She was hidden by Miep Gies who was one of the people who worked at Otto Frank's shop, which had to be renamed Miep Co.
When Otto and his family went into hiding, Anne got a diary from her mom and dad and she named it "Kitty". She wrote all about being in hiding and what she was going though as a teeenage girl.
On August 1, Anne Frank wrote this and it was her last entry, "This is the End of Anne's diary." At that she never wrote in it again. On August 4 she and her seven companions in the Secret Annex were taken to a holding cell and waited three days till she and her family were taken to Westerbork.
Anne Frank died from typhus in a concentration camp, Bergen-belsen, at the age of 15 in March 1945. When talking to the nurse that helped Anne and her sister at the camp, she said that Anne had lice all over her body. The nurse told Anne that she would come back soon, but the nurse got tied up helping other people, and so three days later when the nurse came back, Anne and her sister were dead. Nobody knows for certain what day she died. The camp was liberated on 15 April 1945.
