Nobody stopped the Armenian Genocide; almost all of the Armenians in Ottoman territories were either deported, killed, or fled.
Pogrom of Armenians in Baku happened on 1990-02-13.
The genocide in Srebrenica happened in 1995.
The Armenian Genocide ended when the Armenian community on the Eastern part of the land beat the Turkish in the battle of Sardarabad, consequently ended their killing rampage on Armenian soil. Most of the Armenians in western cities were killed in a systematic killing by ethnicity and many cities captured by the Turks. However the Armenian Genocide has not truly ended because the Turks still deny that this great atrocity happened and the last stage of genocide is denial. Also Armenians in Turkey are still being killed for speaking their mind about the events of 1915. Recently an Armenian journalist Hrant Dink was killed for reporting about the Armenian Genocide. ----- 'Armenian Genocide' ended because what was intented as 'genocide' was done. What was intended was to isolate Turkish and Armenian populations which were nearly between a civil war. As Armenians were only %20 of these provinces in East they were deported to Russia and todays Syria. In 1922 Turkish Nationalist Army won against Democratic Republic of Armenia thus a peace treatry is signed.
No.Well, I know this is sad but no outside countries really did anything for Armenians when they were being slaughtered for no reason. That's why 1.5 million of them are dead. And, the outside countries were the ones who were killing them! It happened during World War 1 so while this was happening to the Armenians, everyone was mainly focused on the war. The Turks picked a perfect time to do this.
Genocide was the word used to describe what happened in the Holocaust.
Noakhali genocide happened on -19-11-10.
Armenia ---- Today's Armenia was in Russian rule at that time. Dont answer if you dont know. The Armenian Genocide is being caimed to be happened in East of Turkey. Russia was also occupying 3 cities that were later given up after Brest-Litovsk.
The Armenian Genocide happened in 1915. Armenians lived in their historical homeland for more than 5000 years, had kingdoms, cities, churches and schools. In the 13-14 centuries the Turkish nomad tribes came to the region, invaded the country of Armenians. Later they created the Ottoman Empire, a part of which was Western Armenia. Armenians were the intellectual Elite of the country, they were the richest shopowners, they were poets, politicians, doctors. Armenians were rich and what is more important they were CHRISTIAN, while Turks were Muslim. And there was the "Armenian Problem", where European countries exacted benefits from Turkey by trading on the problems of the Armenian community. This made the Armenians an effective scapegoat to "show" how the European Nations always made Turkey to do their bidding. Thus, the Best explanation is that Taliat Pasha (one of the organizers) gave : If there is no Armenian, there is no Armenian Problem". Armenians as rightful owners of the land were a great threat for Turkish Tyrants.
Typically, a genocide is "certified" by leading academics when a set of circumstances in the world qualifies under the definition of genocide. This is exactly what happened in the Cambodian genocide.
800,000 were massacred during ethnic conflicts.
Genocide hasn't ended. In many countries, primarily in the Middle East, genocide is still part of their daily lives.
