After the Apostles were killed, it left the church without the High Priesthood. No one had the authority to ordain anyone to a higher position than they themselves held. Therefore a complete restoration has to be made.

The High Priesthood has to be restored so that Twelve Apostles can once again govern the church of Christ. These twelve will have the authority to set apart a Presidency, consisting of a President and two Counselors. The last Presidency consisted of Peter, James and John.

I will go so far as to say that no King, Queen, Emperor, Pope, Archbishop has ever had that High Priesthood given to them. For NO MAN can take that authority upon himself, only he who is called of God, and by the laying on of hands.

First, when persecution broke out, they were 'scattered' (Matthew 26:31) as was prophesied to happen (Zechariah 13:7/Mark 14:27/John 16:32), then, obeying Jesus at Matthew 28:19+20, they went into all the world to preach the Gospel, healing the sick and doing many wondrous things in Jesus' name. They all died a martyr's death except for John.

They were filled with the holy ghost and spoke in tongues, meaning languages and not noises.

Acts 1:8 - "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Acts 2:2-4 - "Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues* as the Spirit enable them."

* or languages; also vs. 11

Acts 2:11 - "(both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs - we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!"

Read the Book of Acts in The Bible. It is not that long a book, it would take 2 hours of your life to read it.

I think you meant to say 12 Apostles. Anyway, it is a great question that has a very long answer so I will try to be as brief as I can.

The commission Jesus gave the 12 can be found in Matthew 10:5-6 that reads, "These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them saying, 'Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.' So the 12 Apostles were to go to the famous 'Lost Tribes' of Israel scattered and never to return after the Assyrian captivity of 721-718 BC. Wow, God never forgets His children even if they forget Him!! Please don't confuse these tribes with the tribe of Judah (Sceptre blessing) who did return after the Babylonian captivity of 604-586 BC & were there under Roman occupation in the time of Christ and the Apostles - the Jews are the keepers of the 'oracles of God.'

So what about the Gentiles. Well we read in Acts 9:15 speaking of Saul of Tarsus who would become the Apostle Paul, ...'Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel.' So God chose Paul to be a 'special' Apostle to the Gentiles, and kings, and children of Israel - 3 specific groups which if you read his works in the NT you will see he accomplished this fully.

Have you ever wondered why (from Acts 15) most of the books/epistles of the New Testament are from/about Paul and not Peter who was the Chief Minister of the Apostles. That is something you may wish to delve into :)

So in essence what I am saying is that if you study the places where the 12 Apostles went to and read some Greek and other histories, like Josephus Flavius, the 1st Century AD Jewish Historian who knew where the Lost Tribes were located then and that they were too large to count, you will be able to find were they settled and what current peoples/nations they are. Compare the nations to the blessings of Jacob/Israel upon each of his 12 children plus his additional adopted children of his son Joseph - Ephraim (birthright blessing) & Manasseh. You will surely be surprised in what you discover.

On the Day of Pentacost, the Apostles were baptised by the Holy Spirit, as promised by Jesus after his ressurection:

4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, "which," He said, "you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now." 6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, "Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?" 7 And He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." (Acts 1:4-8)

The actual baptism of the Apostles by the Holy Spirit is described in Acts 2:1-4:

1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Eventually most of the apostles traveled to other countries to spread the good news that Jesus Christ had died for the sins of many and was resurrected three days later, and that if persons were to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ they could obtain Eternal life. They lived and died for Jesus' sake.

Many of them spread out all over the known world to follow Our Lord's command to "make disciples of all nations." In other words, they became the first missionaries. Many were persecuted and died for their faith. The 12 apostles did much the same as the other disciples but were the first bishops of the new church.
