Of those involved, some were shot as they were chased by the law such as Percy and Catesby. Others were captured, sent to the tower and, after a brief trial, eventually hanged, drawn and quartered with Guy Fawkes in January 1606. Francis Tresham was poisoned.
If I remember correctly, they were caught, because one or all the plotters went to the gunpowder filled room to check if everything was ready and one of the guards caught them while they were doing that.
No on died in the plot, since it was discovered before that gunpowder was detonated, though after it had been laid. The conspirators were arrested, tortured, and then executed, within 30 days.
Horribly: Hung Drawn & Quartered. Afterwards their mutilated body parts were placed on stakes around the country to set an example. That'll teach 'em !
