DNA and RNA are required for reproduction as they carry the plant's genes (RNA is also needed for the creation of proteins). Protein is essential for cell growth and repair, and are involved in almost every function within the plant.
Without nitrogen, the plant would not be able to reproduce, they would not be able to create new cells or repair damaged cells, and would not be able to carry out important functiond for survival because of the lack of protein.
So with no nitrogen the plant would certainly die. With only a small amount of nitrogen, the plant may not be able to carry out internal functions sufficiently or efficiently, and if it is damaged it could not repair itself properly and may eventually die.

∙ 11y agoNitrogen is essential in the synthesis of amino acids and amino acids are required for the synthesis of proteins. So if nitrogen supply is not enough, the synthesis of proteins will be hampered. The plant leaves will have yellowing and growth will be retarded.
