It is not recommended to breed from albino Dobermanns as this condition causes impaired vision, weak immune system, hearing loss/deafness and sunburn. However, if you were to breed an albino Dobermann with a black and tan one the resulting puppies will almost all be black and tan. In a litter of four there are likely to be one albino puppy and three black and tan puppies. This is because darker colours are more dominant.

It is generally agreed that breeding from albino Dobermanns is not the best idea. Although they can reproduce without problem, albino Dobermanns suffer from poor eyesight, weak immune systems, lack of pigmentation, a higher incidence of sunburn and are sometimes deaf. Therefore, it is quite irresponsible to breed from a Dog that will pass on so many inherited problems to their offspring. Although they may look pretty, the Dog's health and happiness should be put first.
