Adderall is a combination of dextroamphetamine and amphetamine that is used to help treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy. It is generally taken orally and stimulates the central nervous system and speeds up the messages going between the brain and the body.

When you snort the medication instead of swallowing it, the strength and potential for problems increases. This is because the drug passes directly into the blood and body tissues instead of first being metabolised.

When coming down you may experience a number of problems such as exhaustion, tension, radical mood swings, depression and even uncontrolled violence.

Long-term effects of repeatedly using of amphetamines can include:

• High blood pressure and a rapid and irregular heartbeat
• Chronic sleeping problems
  
• Malnutrition if your appetite is reduced and you aren't eating properly
  
• Anxiety, tension and sudden outbursts of violence
  
• Amphetamine psychosis, where you may be paranoid or suffer from delusions, hallucinations and bizarre behaviour (usually symptoms disappear a few days after you stop taking the amphetamines)
  
• There is also some evidence that the brain cells can be damaged.

Snorting Adderall can also damage nasal tissues and deteriorate nasal cartilage.

You also need to know that like amphetamines, snorting Adderall can lead to tolerance and addiction. This means that you are more likely to start to need using more and more of it, and your body may begin to rely on it to function. So you may have withdrawal effects if you stop taking it suddenly after continuous use.

Not that I promote the use of this drug in such a manor, but I do use it this way, and have been for a while now(over a year) and I don't have psychosis and I'm obviously not dead, haha. I usually only snort one dose at a time(30mg crushed XR), sometimes twice a day for my ADD(I'm prescribed). I like it because it hits me a LOT faster than if I simply take it orally and lasts almost as long. I usually flush my nose with some water before and after to keep it clean, so maybe that's why I haven't had any damage to my nasal. So to conclude, it's not that bad to snort it, just do this...

1. In my opinion, flushing your nose with some water before not only clears up your nose, it helps with the absorption of the drug, since the way it gets into your blood is by being water soluble and going through the mucus membrane. I usually flush it about 20 minutes after my last line as well to clear it up.
2. Make sure it's finely crushed(especially XR. I use a makeshift pestle((shot glass and a screwdriver)) or the dollar bill and lighter method, followed by some cutting with a razor to get it real fine(it seems like you could make it finer forever, so don't spend too much time on it).
   
3. DON'T GO OVERBOARD! The most I've done at one time(within an hour) is 90mg of XR, and I was definitely speeding pretty hard(didn't sleep that night ((^____^))(but I also did more a few hours later) I wouldn't do more than that at once, and that's only on special occasion.
4. Be Safe. Don't drink while doing this, for you will definitely get speedball affects(been there, done that, never will again ((^____^)) which aren't usually fun or safe. Although I do enjoy a round of good benzos(kpins or xanax) after a few hours of speeding to come down on(I'm also prescribed those ((^_____^))
5. Be Cautious. Don't leave mirrors, razors, rolled up bills, or pill bottles layin around, people will see them and what not.. sooo.... don't :)
6. Finally... Don't Die. I know your friends might tell you it's the cool thing to dooo, but it isn't, so don't... unless your really old that is... then by all means, rest in peace.. haha.

Please red this comment anyone thinking about trying snorting.

this is a list of things to LOWER damage. trust me, me and most of my friends take this and snorting is not a good idea. It will damage your nose after a long while, Coy just hasn't done it long enough yet. Snorting will get you HIGH as HELL, but the crash is bad, your throat tastes like *Expletive deleted*, and it does damage to your brain in a way that it will NEVER recover. Never use alcohol, and more importantly, never do this if you have no prescription, because its noticeable and you WILL get arrested, especially if you are in high school. I can only recommend this to addicts of other, more powerful or dangerous drugs like cocaine or meth, because the addiction factor is INSANE and those first two weeks off it are hell. F that, stick with weed for a high, or if you need a stimulant, stay awake caffeine pills from safeway. 2 or 3 are a HUGE pick-me-up. If you have add or adhd, stick with oral usage, and save yourself the pain. I know i am from now on. the crashes and nasal pain are NOT worth it

Look up SODAS, that is the delivery system for most xr, cr, or la drugs. the outer layer is the drug, then an inactive ingredient, then a tiny plastic pellet which has holes in it and is full of the 2nd dose of the drug. Snorting anything can lead to pulmonary embolisms, but these especially. the plastic parts end up in your lungs and will cause bronchitis, pneumonia, and other infections. I have a Rx for Xanax and also Focalin XR which is the strongest of the amphetamines used to treat ADHD. I got creative one day and snorted the xanax, nothing special except clogged sinuses. After trying to snort the Focalin XR I had chest congestion, and excessive phlem for a long time. ALWAYS TAKE MEDS THE WAY IN WHICH THEY ARE PRESCRIBED.
