Nothing. If you took it too soon after taking the sub, you might feel a tinge of withdrawals, but if you took it 6 hours or later after taking the sub, you'd feel nothing. Depending on your dose and how long you've been taking sub, you'd probably have to wait anywhere from 24-48 hours before being able to feel the effects of another opioid.
I've recently found out that you need to be in moderate withdrawal for suboxone to work
suboxone will actually put you into immediate withdrawal if you take it while addicted to percocets ...they can also give you a high feeling but they can also make you feel sick if you are an addict good luck
You can. However, if you are taking it for the effect, you will not feel it. As for health risk, it is possible to over dose on the combination, though unlikely. Also if you are on suboxone you more than likely have are trying to recover from an addiction to opiets, and should not be taking percocet. If you need it for the pain there are non habit forming pain meds (tramadol, ibprophin). If your not i would look into some rehabs.
you could have a nasty "instant withdrawal" reaction. Vicodin is an opioid agonist, whereas suboxone is both an opoiod agonist AND antagonist--with a small amount of naloxone (the drug they give to people who are overdosing on opioids) thrown in to boot! It is not for--would not even be FUN for--recreational use. As you know, it is used to treat opioid drug addicts, only to keep them from experiencing withdrawal. This is not like popping a percoset or something. Don't do it.
At face value, the answer is nothing much. In order to feel anything, in the sense most people are asking, it's going to take a good 24 hours, maybe longer. But remember one thing, you could take, say 30 percocets after taking your last sub dose being 5 days in and you wouldn't get high, but you could do serious damage to your liver.
A lot will depend on your dose, if you're taking 1 full 16mg for 5 days, yah, it's going nowhere until you have a day and a half out.
I have the same question and i will let you know because i just took 4 percocet, and the last suboxone i took was yesterday at 5pm
You get really sick and start going through immediate withdrawals from the percocet!!Dont do it!!
you'd puke.
I guess it would be okay for you to take a vicodin after 48 hours of you not taking any suboxone. Suboxone has a long half life and that means it stays in your system for a long period of time. First of all, why would you want to only be on suboxone for a week? suboxone doesn't work in a week. And if it does work for you in a week then why would you want to touch a vicodin again??
They will not mix.The suboxone will block the opiate(hydrocodone,Oxycodone, codeine, etc) and if you have been on the opiate long term the suboxone will cause precipitated withdrawal.ONLY take suboxone after 24 hours opiate free and if your ready to get off opiates
yes you can, allthough you will not get any buzz what so ever from the vicodin, so its really a waste of the v's. the vicodin will still have the pain killig effect though. best to wait 24 hours at least after taking the suboxone before you take the v's.
faq
Nothing. I take 3 7.5 mg Vicodin and 4 800 mg IBU a day.
It is not recommended to take suboxone and methadone together within a few hours apart. You should give yourself time to get one out of your system before taking the other. Mixing methadone and suboxone can result in sickness and withdrawals.
Absolutely nothing at all would happen the the buprenorphine will block the tiny amount of hydrocodone and you would feel nothing. Even if you took a hand full the same day as you took suboxone, it would block the hydrocodone.
If this happens, you must immediately drink a beer or two...Nah, you'll be O.K...there's no negative interaction between the two.
my psychiatrist gave me Suboxone 8mg/2mg , I also take Vicodin 5/500mgs for breakthru pain, is this safe?? and how long do I have to wait to take a vicodin, well, actually it would be hydrocodone the generic for the vicodin, to work on my pain??
You should wait until you are experiencing full withdrawals. I would recommend waiting at least 36 hours and 48 hours if you can stand it. If you wait 48 hours you will definitely not get sick but I it is risky before that.
the half life of suboxone is 36 hours. So 72 hours would eliminate the suboxone from you entirely. But depending on your dose you could have oxycodone work sooner. Example if your mu receptors are not filled (2mg suboxone or below). But all in all you will have to wait a full two days before the oxycodone will work to your satisfaction, to my expierence.
Well, you would have ingested 30 mg of hydrocodone. And that's probably too much.
