If its like my escort at the mo then it idles badly when warm and tries to cut out when pulling off.
pcv valve wont work properly
go to the local auto shop and tell them you ned your pcv valve replaced
on top of the valve cover.Center o the valve cover where a hose goes into it.it attaches to the Pcv
the pcv is in the back center of the plenium (intake) has a hose on it that goes to the left valve cover the pcv is in the back center of the plenium (intake) has a hose on it that goes to the left valve cover
yes it does, all engines have a pcv valve ( positive crankcase ventilation ) valve. it is on the engine and vacuum goes to it from the valve covers.
There are 2 hoses coming out of the PCV valve. One goes to the top of the engine and the other goes to the air intake at the air filter.
It is on the valve cover, the hose attached to it goes to the intake.
Not sure about the 1989, but 1990-1993 it goes into the valve cover. Look for a hose running to the valve cover and the PCV valve should be what is at the end of it pushed into the valve cover.
Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV). The PCV valve acts as a vent to the upper engine removing excess combustion gases via vacuum lines that plug into the valve. A dirty or restricted pcv valve and cause excess pressure on internal oil seals and gaskets.
It is located in the intake manifold - there are 3 hoses connected via T-piece. The bottom hose goes into the PCV valve.
Pull upward on the hose that the PCV valve is in. The PCV valve will pull out of the hose. The PCV valve is located in the valve cover.
It's on the valve cover, look for a hose that goes to the carb and the pcv valve just pushes into the valve cover through a rubber grommet. If this is a Pontiac powered Trans Am the PCV valve will be in the valley pan, just under the intake. Should be in front of the carb.
